HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Members of Marshall's undefeated 1996 football team created a scholarship fund at their alma mater to give back something for the support they received as players, former Thundering Herd greats Chad Pennington and Randy Moss said Thursday.

"There are not too many universities around the nation, no matter what division they play on, that can say they have the support we do as Marshall University football players," Pennington said Thursday at a news conference in Huntington.

Pennington, Moss and other members of the 1996 squad returned to Huntington this week for a reunion. Pennington and Moss will serve as honorary coaches for Saturday's Green-White scrimmage that marks the end of spring practices.
