WOAI sings multi year deal with Cowboys.

Clear Channel Communications Inc. has finalized a deal that will bring the NFL Dallas Cowboys' radio broadcasts to the San Antonio-based company's flagship station -- WOAI-AM 1200.

WOAI Program Director Nate Lundy says the two-year deal begins Aug. 12 when the Cowboys launch their preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Lundy says WOAI will carry the gameday programming, while its San Antonio sister station KTKR-AM (Ticket 760) will carry numerous Cowboys weekly programming features. That additional programming, Clear Channel officials explain, will include daily reports on the team, as well as interviews with team owner Jerry Jones and head coach Bill Parcells. It will also include a weekly one-hour program featuring Cowboys news and player interviews.

The lineup on WOAI and Ticket 760, Clear Channel officials note, now includes the NBA's Spurs, Major League Baseball's Houston Astros and Texas Rangers and the NFL's Houston Texans and Cowboys. It also includes the University of Texas Longhorns' and Texas A&M University Aggies' football and basketball games.

"We're excited about having WOAI on board as a network affiliate," Jones says. "Our team has always enjoyed a great fan following in San Antonio, and we know that WOAI will be able to satisfy the tremendous thirst for Cowboys information and programming in San Antonio."

Denver Broncos Draft picks

Denver Broncos 2006 Draft Preview
By Tony Moss, NFL Editor

(Sports Network) - The Broncos' pass rush was non-existent last year, and though they won't get N.C. State stud defensive end Mario Williams with the 15th or 22nd pick, there are some options there, like Tamba Hali (Penn State) or Mathias Kiwanuka (Boston College), that the team will probably take a look at. Even after flirting with Terrell Owens, Eric Moulds, and Javon Walker during the free agency period, the Broncos were still left empty-handed at the position and could target a receiver with one of its two first-round choices. Also a priority is tight end, as Jeb Putzier was cut on March 1st and Stephen Alexander is near the end of the line. Tatum Bell and Ron Dayne look established at 1-2 in the Denver backfield, but the Broncos will likely add depth in the form of a running back somewhere in the middle rounds.

Oakland signs lance johnstone.

The Oakland Raiders have signed defensive end Lance Johnstone, who has spent the past five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. In ten seasons, Johnstone has recorded 70 sacks. He was originally a second-round draft pick from the Raiders in 1996. He spent the first five years of his career with the Raiders before leaving for Minnesota.

Last year, Johnstone led the Vikings with 7.5 sacks in 12 games. He joins Derrick Burgess, who led the league in sacks last year with 16. The duo will make an instant impact in their division.
