Courtney Anderson Courtney is an athletic young TE, born in Greenville
Texas, who became the key contributor of his first two professional seasons
in NFL. He was able to play in 23 games with 17 starts and caught 37 passes
for 478 yards and four touchdowns. Looking for Oakland Raiders Tickets? In his college days, he shared TE duties as a junior for San Jose State before taking over the starting job in 2003. In 23 games with the Spartans, he hauled in 36 passes for 477 yards (13.3 average) and seven touchdowns. He began his collegiate career at Contra Costa College, where he lined up at WR before moving to DE, then back to offense as TE at San Jose State. He is a Sociology major in college. In the year 2004, he was able to play in 9 league games as a rookie, starting four. He finished his rookie campaign with 13 catches for 175 yards and one touchdown, until he suffered a knee injury in the 9th week at Carolina on November 7, 2004, where he led all rookie TEs in receptions and receiving yards. In September 12, in a game against PIT, he made his NFL regular season debut by catching one pass for 13 yards. In a game against BUF last September 19, he was lined up at FB and TE and played on special teams. And on September 26, he played TE catching one pass for eight yards. In October 3, he played TE catching 3 passes for 37 yards i a game against HOU. In a game against IND last October 10, Courtney made his career start at TE and caught his first career touchdown, which is a 21-yarder. He finished with three receptions for 38 yards. When he played against DEN on October 17, Courtney started at TE, he caught two passes for 34 yards. Other games he played during the year are: a game against NO (October 24) – where he started at TE catching 2 passes at 17 yards. And on October 31 in a game against SD, he made one pass for 28 yards. And lastly on November 7, he played against CAR which he started at TE. He became inactive and did not play in the final seven league games after suffering from a injury. In the year 2005, Courtney played in 14 league games. He improved on a standout rookie campaign by catching 24 passes for 303 yards and three touchdowns, which include his 2 point score in the season opener. This football player registered his first career of 100-yard game in Philadelphia on September 25, 2005. In September 8, 2005 at NE he started at TE (tight-end), caught 3 passes for 18 yards and two of his catches went for touchdowns, first, by scoring from two yards out to cap the opening drive of the season, and then hauling in a five-yard touchdown pass in the back of the end zone in the 4th quarter. In September 18, 2005 in a game against KC, he also started at TE. At PHI on September 25, 2005, he also started at TE and led the offense with 100 receiving yards on five catches, which became one of his career highs, and also, he had the longest catch of the day with a 36-yard reception. In a game against DAL on October 2, 2005, he started again at TE and caught 2 passes for 32 yards. He started again at TE and aided the offense with 2 catches for 14 yard in October 16 when they played agaist SD. He also started at TE versus BUF on October 23 and versus TN on October 30. On November 6 in KC, he started at TE and caught a pair of 13-yard passes, and then on November 13, in DEN he played at TE and caught one pass for 18 yards. November 30, in a game against WAS, he started at TE and recorded 15 yards on two catches as compared to November 27, a game against MIA, where he also started at TE and caught 5 passes for a total of 50 yards. In December 4, they played against SD, and he scored the team’s only touchdown of the day on a 16-yard reception from QB Kerry Collins in the second quarter.
