He was born June 9, 1983 in Bradenton, Florida. He currently plays as a cornerback for the Oakland Raiders of the NFL. Described as a speedy young CB who emerged as a starter as a rookie. He recorded the fastest 40 time in the 2005 NFL Combine with an astounding 4.25 seconds.

He attended Bayshore High School in Bradenton, Florida and was a Super Prep All-American and widely regarded as the top DB to come out of Florida in 2001.

During College he majored in Sociology and was an All-Big 12 selection in each of his three seasons at the University of Nebraska and played in 37 career games, starting 35 at CB for the Huskers' famed Blackshirt defense. As a freshman All-American second-team and first-team All-Big 12 selection by The Sporting News in 2002. And set a Nebraska freshman record with 13 pass deflections and tied another freshman mark with four interceptions. He also Intercepted a pass on his first play as a Husker against Arizona State and returned it 29 yards for a touchdown and started 11 games as a freshman at left CB. He finished the year with 49 tackles, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and one tackle for a two-yard loss.

In the 2005 season, he played in all 16 league games as a rookie, starting 11. And finished the year with 39 tackles, including 36 solo stops. He also had five passes defensed and one fumble recovery and led the team in tackles at Kansas City.
