Larry Johnson rushed for 154 yards on 31 carries with a pair of touchdowns and rookie Jarrad Page intercepted a potentially game-winning pass in the end zone, as the Kansas City Chiefs held off the Oakland Raiders, 17-13, at Arrowhead Stadium. Trailing by four points, the Raiders had a final drive to rally for the game- winner. Andrew Walter came in for Aaron Brooks, who had injured his hand, and threw an incomplete pass, but then found Ronald Curry for 10 yards before getting sacked out of bounds. Brooks came back into the game and hooked up with Randal Williams for 13 yards, and then Curry for 39 yards. Brooks had about 30 seconds to take several shots at the end zone from the KC eight-yard line. However, Page intercepted his pass intended for Randy Moss in the end zone, and the Chiefs knelt on the ball to preserve the win. "We got back on the field defensively, and they hit a big play on us with no time outs left and we did a great job in the Red Zone," Kansas City coach Herm Edwards said. "A young rookie [Page] has been starting [at safety] now and made a great play. That game is about heart and I thought the Raiders showed great heart all through the game and moved the ball." The Chiefs scored the game-winning touchdown on their previous possession, as they marched 80 yards on 11 plays. Johnson lunged across the goal line on a one-yard rush for the final margin, after having scored on the previous play from nine yards out with the play being challenged and reversed. The winning drive was highlighted by a 24-yard reception by Eddie Kennison and a 15-yard facemask penalty on cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. Trent Green returned to the field to complete 9-of-16 passes for 102 yards for the Chiefs (6-4), who have won four of their last five. Michael Bennett rushed for 43 yards on three attempts, and Samie Parker caught three balls for 44 yards. Green had been sidelined since suffering a severe concussion against Cincinnati in Week 1, but the veteran quarterback was cleared for a return to full practice earlier in the week. Chiefs head coach Herman Edwards then announced Wednesday that Green would get the start. Green made his return without tight end Tony Gonzalez, who leads the team in catches (44), receiving yards (588) and touchdown receptions (3), but has a Grade 2 shoulder sprain. Brooks, who strained his right shoulder against Baltimore in Week 2, returned to the starting lineup for the first time since September 17. He completed 13- of-22 passes for 179 yards with a touchdown and the game-ending interception for the Raiders (2-8), who lost their second straight game. "[His (Brooks) effort today] shows what he is capable of doing," Oakland coach Art Shell said. "He brings a lot to the table with his experience. He has the ability to move in pressure and find the open receivers. I felt we needed something to give us a spark and he gave us that. He was able to evade pressure which was a bonus for us." Oakland's top running back LaMont Jordan left with 4:18 remaining in the first after suffering a torn left MCL on a 12-yard run, and failed to return. Justin Fargas rushed for 52 yards on 19 carries, and Curry had five receptions for 85 yards in defeat. After KC forced Oakland to punt on the opening drive, Johnson methodically carried the ball nine times for 53 yards capped by a five-yard touchdown scamper with 6:19 remaining. The Raiders responded with a 11-play, 41-yard drive capped by a 41-yard Sebastian Janikowski field goal in the final minute of the first. Janikowski got the Raiders going again on a 36-yarder with 7:53 remaining in the second. Oakland next marched 76 yards on 11 plays capped by a two-yard touchdown pass to Courtney Anderson with 19 seconds left for a 13-7 halftime advantage, and Brooks' first touchdown pass as a Raider. Kansas City finally got some offense courtesy of a pair of 17-yard runs by Johnson and a 14-yard pass to Kennison. Lawrence Tynes followed with a 37-yard field goal with 2:43 remaining for a 13-10 Raiders lead. The Chiefs blew a chance to tie the score on their opening drive in the fourth quarter when Tynes missed a 35-yard field goal. They forced Oakland to punt on its ensuing possession, and reached paydirt for the game-winner about three minutes later. Game Notes Oakland tackles Robert Gallery and Langston Walker both left in the third quarter with injuries. Walker later returned, but Gallery is out with a dislocated elbow...Gonzalez made six catches for 84 yards in last Sunday's 13-10 loss to Miami, but suffered the injury in the final minutes of the game while attempting to break through a double-team and avoid quarterback Damon Huard's pass from being intercepted...Kansas City holds a 48-42-2 edge in its all- time regular season series with Oakland, which dates back to 1960...The Chiefs have won seven straight in the series, sweeping home-and-homes in 2003, 2004, 2005. Kansas City took a 23-17 triumph at McAfee Coliseum in Week 2 of last season, and beat the Raiders by a 27-23 count at home in Week 9. Oakland last defeated the Chiefs during the 2002 campaign, winning a 24-0 decision at home...The Raiders are 0-5 in Kansas City since 2001.
