He was born on February 3, 1972 in La Grange, Georgia, he currently plays as a cornerback for the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League.

By profession, he was a veteran cornerback, who recorded 394 tackles, 17 interceptions, five sacks and 103 passes defensed over his career. And started 110 of 130 games in which he has played. And was valuable special teams player, who has 449 career punt return yards on 130 attempts.

He was a four-year starter at Fort Valley State, Georgia and became the first player from that school to ever be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.

In 1995, he played in all 16 games and started 13 games as a rookie with the Carolina Panthers. He recorded 68 tackles, two sacks and three forced fumbles. He had two interceptions and 16 passes defensed. He made the NFC All- Rookie Team first team.

He started 15 games and both playoff games for the Carolina Panthers in 1996. He ranked fifth on the team with 80 tackles and recovered one fumble.

While in 1997, he played for Indianapolis at right cornerback and recorded 60 tackles, a sack, two interceptions and 18 passes defensed.

He played for Indianapolis again in 1998, missing the Colts 27-14 loss at Miami with a leg injury.

In the 1999 season he started 14 of 15 games in which he played for Indianapolis and totaled 44 tackles, 16 passes defensed, three interceptions and one sack. He sealed a win over San Diego by returning an interception 38 yards to put Indianapolis up 27-19.

He recorded 48 tackles, 10 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one interception in 2000 where he started 12 out of 15 games for Indianapolis

In 2001 he signed with Denver during offseason and began training camp with the club, but was placed on the injured reserve/left squad list prior to start of regular season.

He played in all 16 games and started four in 2002. He posted 55 tackles including a sack as well as a forced fumble and 10 passes defensed, which ranked third on the team.

In the 2003 season he tied for the team lead with six interceptions, the second most in the AFC. And ranked fourth in the NFL with 21 pass defenses.

He played in five games with four starts before being placed on the injured reserve in 2004 and in 2005 season, he started in the season opener versus Raiders for New England, but sat out the rest of the year with an ankle injury.
